I found this tribal pattern and wanted to use it for nail art. Instead of just drawing lines I decided to attempt making a tribal print using glitter placement. In some ways it was a win, in other ways it was a fail. More on that after the jump thingy...

My cat has been foiled - Nail Art
I'm getting busier in my everyday life which is cutting into my nail art time. I can't dare to bare my nails but I can't spend ages each week painting them just to have them chip off a day or two later. This is where gel nail polish come in. This awesome invention means I can wear a mani for a few weeks with no chips (if I apply it correctly). All I have to do is not get bored with a design :P

Textured Glitter Gradient
Ok, so I actually brought these nail polishes with the intention of doing this nail art (and also because they looked like the most perfect colours ever). I have to say, oh my gosh! I am totally in love with this gradient! Absolutely no polish buying regrets! (But then again I'm likely to never have issues with buying polish haha).

Sideways Armoured Ruffian
In keeping with the theme, today's nails had to be pink but I wanted to give them a little edge. I did that literally by way of a sideways ruffian and studs because who said pink can't be edgy.

Fuzzy Hearts
Well February is fast approaching and the most exciting thing about February is that it only has 28 days, meaning it's over super quickly. This is excellent because the other thing February contains is Valentine's Day, and the sooner we can get that over with, the better in my mind. In my opinion Valentine's Day is over the top and tacky and if you want to tell someone you like them, just do it, and if they happen to like you back, make sure they know you love them everyday.
I have some Valentine's Day nails right here. I was hoping that the fuzziness, and everything else about them, would make them over the top, just like the day itself, but instead they ended up cute. Well I guess love can also be cute and yet make you want to vomit if you're cynical, so there are right on the ball haha.

OPI Classy Glitter Gradient
Ah! I think I've found the most perfect glitter topper ever in OPI's Gaining Mole-mentum. It's got such a pretty combination of rose gold, gold and silver shard glitters that makes it classy and yet totally edgy. I decided to do a gradient of Gaining Mole-mentum over Did you 'ear about Van Gogh, for a work appropriate glitter gradient that is also subtly festive for the current Christmas season.

Christmas Gradient
Nothing screams christmas like red, green and glitter. Or so I thought until asked if these were meant to be strawberries. Whatever, strawberries are cool, not Christmas cool but close enough. So say hello to my CHRISTMAS GRADIENT, potentially masquerading as casual strawberries, nails.

#31DC2014 - Day 17 - Glitter
It's not glitter if it's not glitter placement mosaic, rainbow gradient, glittery goodness. I'm not going to lie, I wasted so much time on these but the pay off is pretty amazing if I do say so myself :D

#31DC2014 - Day 10 - Gradient
Today's challenge was gradient nails. I've been wanting to try a scaled gradient as inspired by Simply Nailogical, for a while, so I thought today's prompt would be a great chance to try this design.

#31DC2014 - Day 7 - Black and White
Wow, I've managed to make it through a week of a challenge. That's pretty amazing but the prompts so far have been fairly easy. This week they get a little more complex so hopefully I can still keep up.
Today, for day number 7, the prompt was black and white nails. I had grand plans to do a houndstooth pattern but it didn't work so ended up with some random glitter placement nails...again.

#31DC2014 - Day 6 - Violet
Today's prompt called for violet nails. Violet to me means purple but according to this polish I found, this is the true colour of violet. I'm judging the polish as telling lies because my hardcore googling indicates violet as a darker purple but we'll roll with it.

Ducky Polish Glitter Gradient
Hello and welcome to my new blog, again. This is my third
nail art blog I have started and I promise it will be the last one. Some of you
may be wondering where the name Clavum es originates from. Well Clavum es is
Latin for Nail Art. I wanted to name my blog something sort of scientific, due
to the fact I am a scientist, so I decided to give nail art a scientific name. Most
scientific names are in Latin, so I simply translated nail art and the name
stuck.
Now straight into some nail art as after all, this is a nail
art blog.
