Tribal Glitter Placement

I found this tribal pattern and wanted to use it for nail art. Instead of just drawing lines I decided to attempt making a tribal print using glitter placement. In some ways it was a win, in other ways it was a fail. More on that after the jump thingy...

So basically this is a win because a few nails turned out exactly like I imagined! The thumb and the ring finger are pretty much perfect. How this failed is I screwed up the pointer finger but I tried to fix it without totally redoing it. This basically lead to a lot of bubbles and not so neat lines of glitter. Bubbling also occurred when I topped coated most of the other fingers as I had to trim the glitters and the glitter kept lifting when I did, leading to me having to add quite a few layers of top coat. I wish I had done the design from my ring finger across all nails but no way was I going to change them after I did them, because glitter placement is a time consuming thing!

What I used is:
Picture Polish - Bright White
The Sparkly Shop - Triangle Glitter (black, yellow and white)
Glisten and Glow - HK Girl Top Coat (final top coat)
Bella Belle Nail Couture - Base and Top Coat (slightly slower drying so better for glitter placement!)

Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this look, seeing as mine are mostly mixed :p

  1. Seeing as I know you did this at night under not great artificial light, these are awesome. Just think of all the lessons you've learned for next time.
